The moment you see him crouch behind his cape, you should already be moving evasively for his lunge.

If you aren’t quick to adapt, you can easily be caught in all three hits or slammed against a wall repeatedly and forced to take the brunt of his strikes with no hope of escape. The first strike will have an alarming reach, and you’ll either need to quickly Flash Shift backwards a few times, or quickly Screw Attack up and over his head to get away from his slashing. This is because Raven Beak will always follow up his wide beam attack with a three-combo staggering melee attack. This is your only respite from the damaging effects of this beam, so you’ll want to quickly dash into the edge of this triangle - but be ready to dash the second it ends. Blowing up the orb can give you additional health and missiles back - which can be vital - but you’ll also want to be sure you’re not focusing on the orb more than his next attack that can hit you for even more damage.Īnother of Raven Beak’s attacks will show him holding his arm cannon high above his head, and after firing a beam upwards, its rays will arc outwards to envelop almost all of the arena save for a small triangle next to Raven Beak. If you're very close, focus on escaping and creating distance (and keep your lock-on button pressed). Four Storm Missiles will destroy the orb. If you're far enough away, you can also just lock on. Since it takes him some time to create the orb, start charging your beam and fire as soon as it's heading towards you, then lock on and fire Storm Missiles. It can deal a lot of damage when it lands and can’t be dodged forever - but you can overload it with enough damage.

Raven Beak has plenty of deadly moves in his arsenal, starting with a black orb he can shoot that that slowly follows you around the arena. Attacking him still causes damage, but in the grand scheme of things it’s better to wait for opportunities to counter instead of wasting missiles and time aiming your beam attacks at him. In this first phase, Raven Beak is near invulnerable with his power armor, as indicated by the glowing aura around him that can go from white to pink to gold.
